ABSTRACT

The aim of this study was to design a simple, economic, with high Common Mode Rejection Ratio (CMRR), preamplifier and multi-channel masticatory muscle surface electromyography (sEMG) signal acquisition system assisting to diagnose temporomandibular disorders (TMD). We used the USB interface technology in the EMG data with the aid of the windows to operate system and graphical interface. Eight patients with TMD and eight controls were analyzed separately using this system. In this system, we analyzed sEMG by an optional combination of time domain, frequency domain, time-frequency, several spectral analysis, wavelets and other special algorithms under multi-parameter. Multi-channel sEMG System of Masticatory Muscles is a simple, economic system. It has high sensitivity and specificity. The sEMG signals were changed in patients with TMD. The system would pave the way for diagnosis TMD and help us to assess the treatment effect. A novel and objective method is provided for diagnosis and treatment of oral-maxillofacial disease and functional reconstruction.

ABSTRACT

Objective:To investigate the influence of hepatocyte growth factor(HGF)on the expression of vascular endothelial growth factor C(VEGF-C)and the mechanism of HGF-induced VEGF-C expression in tongue squamous cell carcinoma Tca8113 cells.Methods:Tca8113 cells were cultured and exposed to HGF with various concentrations. The expression level of VEGF-C was assessed by ELISA.Signaling transduction inhibitors LY294002,U0126,SP600125,SB203580 was used to block PI3K/Akt,P44 /P22MAPK,JNK,P38MAPK signaling pathways, respectively. Then, the expression level of VEGF-C was detected by ELISA.Re-sults:The VEGF-C expression of Tca8113 cells increased at the beginning and decreased later with the increase of HGF concentra-tion.When the concentration of HGF was 40 ng/ml,VEGF-C expression level was the highest.Inhibitor LY294002 of PI3K/Akt and Inhibitor U0126 of P44 /P22MAPK significantly blocked the effects on HGF-induced VEGF-C up-regulation(P <0.01 ).Inhibitor SP600125 of JNK and inhibitor SB203580 of P38MAPK didn't interfere HGF-induced VEGF-C expression(P >0.05).Conclusion:HGF contributed to the expression of VEGF-C,PI3K/Akt and P44 /P22MAPK signaling pathways may be involved in HGF-induced VEGF-C up-regulation,and may play potential roles in lymphatic metastasis of oral squamous cell carcinoma.

ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVETo reveal the influence of harvest season and tree age on the content of taxol and 10-DAB III, and provide the basis for the harvest time of Taxus madia.

METHODBranches and leaves of the labeled 25 three-year-old plants and 25 five-year-old plants were collected every two months from March 26,2009 to January 26, 2010. Taxol and 10-DAB III content of different age and growth season of Taxus in branches were determined by HPLC.

RESULTTaxol and 10-DAB III content were significantly different in different harvesting age. The content of five-year-old plants was significantly higher than that of three-year-old plants. Taxol and 10-DAB III contents were significantly different in different harvesting season, and the highest content of taxol and 10-DAB III was 0.56, 0.32 mg x g(-1), respectively, in May.

CONCLUSIONThe May is the suitable harvest season for T. madia, but the suitable harvest age need further study which according to the main active component and biomass accumulation.
